Uniform Civil Code: DarulUloomDeoband sent suggestion to Law Commission…

These days there is a debate in the country regarding the Uniform Civil Code. While all the opposition parties, including the All india Muslim Personal Law Board, are opposing it, DarulUloomDeoband, an Islamic educational institution in Saharanpur, in its suggestion to the Law Commission on the Uniform Civil Code, said that india should implement the UCC in the country. is not needed. Deoband said that implementing it would mean violating the rights of religious freedom given under Articles 25 and 26 of the Constitution of India.

After Muslim Personal-Law Board and JamiatUlema-e-Hind, DarulUloom has also sounded the bugle against Uniform Civil Code. On Friday, Naib Mohtamim of DarulUloomMaulana Abdul Khaliq Madrasi said in a letter sent to the Law Commission that there is no need for this law for people of all communities in the country. Because when the Uniform Civil Code is implemented, the personal religious laws of all the citizens of the country will be removed. Due to which marriage, divorce, inheritance etc. will be controlled by one law. In the letter, he called the UCC against the rights of religious freedom and social disorder.

In the letter, the Uniform Civil Code was said to give rise to social unrest and against the spirit of the Constitution. It has been said in the letter that the constitution protects the right to follow culture and religion. But this code is going to affect cultural rights, protected under the fundamental rights of citizens with diverse identities. In the letter, the Law Commission was told that like other Muslim organizations, DarulUloom also rejects the idea of equal citizenship, as this law is going to take the country many steps back from inclusiveness and tolerance. That's why DarulUloom considers it against constitutional rights.
