Vanama Venkateshwar Rao filed a plea with the telangana high court on thursday asking for a stay on the implementation of a high court decision overturning his election to the Legislative assembly from the kothagudem constituency.

On Wednesday, telangana high court Dr. Justice Radha rani invalidated Venkateshwar Rao's election and proclaimed petitioner Jalagam venkat rao as the assembly's new member as of december 12, 2018. Venkateshwar Rao was additionally fined Rs. 5 lakhs by the court for failing to provide the election commission with all of his and his wife's property information on Form 26.

The case filed on thursday was also brought before Dr. Justice Radha Rani, who dismissed the petition, according to Kutumbaka Ramesh, the attorney who represented venkat Rao. In his request for the'set-aside' decision to be suspended from effect, Venkateshwar Rao stated that he intended to appeal to the supreme Court.

Vanama Venkateshwar Rao, a candidate for the Congress, defeated Jalagam venkat rao in the kothagudem assembly district while running for the telangana rashtra samithi (TRS) at the time. Later, Venkageshwar Rao joined the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), formerly known as the telangana rashtra samithi (TRS). Stay tuned.
