Congress MP jairam ramesh also made a scathing attack on the Center by posting on this matter. He tweeted that before the 2022 assembly elections in the state, nda Union Ministers used to visit Manipur every week and sometimes every other day. Since the outbreak of caste violence, the Union home minister has visited only once, that too more than a month after the violence, which did not show any concrete effect.He further said that in the meantime a delegation of 20 MPs from rahul gandhi and now Team india has gone to Manipur. These MPs are listening to the pain, suffering and terror of both the communities, appealing for peace, taking stock of the condition of relief camps across Manipur and trying to restore peace.
Counterattack by BJP
The statements of the opposition have also been retaliated by the government. The bjp has alleged that the opposition parties have gone for photo ops. Union minister Arjun ram Meghwal said that we are ready for discussion in Parliament. Defense minister Rajnath Singh and Union home minister amit shah have also said that we want to discuss this (Manipur) issue, but the opposition is trying to politicize the issue, it should not be done.
Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that on the first day of Parliament, PM Modi and other leaders had said that they are ready to discuss the Manipur issue. The opposition does not want to discuss it and wants to keep the issue alive. They know that the events of Rajasthan, West bengal and chhattisgarh will also be discussed.
