A delhi court on thursday extended the enforcement custody (ED) of AK Infosystems promoter amit Katyal,
who was arrested last week in the alleged land for job scam. Katyal has been accused of acquiring several lands
from candidates on behalf of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and former Railway minister Lalu prasad Yadav.
He was first detained and later arrested by the financial investigation agency on november 11 under the
provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). On thursday, Rouse Avenue Court’s special
judge Gitanjali Goyal sent Katyal to ED custody till november 22 after his two-day remand ends.
The matter is related to Lalu family
Katyal’s premises in south Delhi’s posh New Friends Colony was declared as the office of AK Infosystems, but
is being used as a residential complex by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. ED on July 31 this year arrested RJD
leader Rabri Devi, Misa Bharti (Lalu Yadav's daughter), Vineet Yadav (husband of Lalu's daughter Hema
Yadav), Shiv Kumar Yadav (Hema Yadav's father-in-law), AB Exports Private Limited and A. Six immovable
properties worth Rs 6.02 crore of K Infosystems Private Limited were attached. Both the companies are owned
and controlled by the family members of Lalu prasad Yadav.
Many properties have been attached
The attached properties include a residential complex located at D-1088, New Friends Colony, New delhi,
owned by AB Exports Private Limited. Two land parcels located in Mahuabagh (Danapur) in Patna, one of
which is owned by Rabri Devi and AK Infosystems Private Limited, have also been attached. The registered
address of the company is D-1088, New Friends Colony, New delhi, which is the residence of Lalu Prasad
Yadav and his family members. Many other lands in the said company were also acquired by amit Katyal in
return for giving them. The agency alleged in a statement issued on monday that when Lalu prasad Yadav was
the Railway minister, he gave him undue benefits. It said that after the land was acquired, the shares of the said
company were transferred to the family members of Lalu prasad in 2014.
