Union women and Child Development minister Smriti Irani said, “Menopause is a natural consequence of aging that usually occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55. women are generally considered menopausal if they have not had a period for a year for no underlying reason. Some women experience mild problems or none at all, but some women have severe symptoms during this period. It is an inevitable event in the lives of women who spend many more years in late menopause.
No menopause policy has been formulated so far for female employees in government and private sectors. All concerned parties shall be consulted before deciding on the formulation of a Menstruation Policy for women employees in the government and Private Sectors. A careful consideration of all aspects of this subject is needed, and conclusive research findings are needed on the physical and psychological stress faced by female employees as a result of menopause.
Also, there is a need to create awareness about women's health issues such as menstrual awareness campaigns. Awareness is being done through various schemes of the government of india and through advertisements / street drama etc.” This is stated in the minister's reply. ravikumar M.P. He said, "On 26.11.2019, I presented this problem in parliament for the first time. I raised a question about this issue on 06.12.2019. They have given the same answer that they gave then without changing a single word.” He said.
