Major action by SST team amid lok sabha elections…

The SST team has taken major action amid the lok sabha elections in Maharashtra. Static Surveillance Team (SST) has seized Rs 29 lakh 50 thousand from a car in Maval lok sabha constituency of Pimpri Chinchwad. The cash has been handed over to the Income Tax Department for further investigation. The election commission official has given this information. A video of this has also surfaced.

In Maharashtra, just before the lok sabha elections, from march 1 to march 23, local authorities have seized Rs 23.7 crore in cash, 699 kg of drugs worth Rs 158 crore and 17.5 lakh liters of liquor worth Rs 14.8 crore. These seized items include precious metals and many other free items, which are worth Rs 269 crore. The value of seizure of precious metals is Rs 18.6 crore.

"These seizures are being investigated," state Chief Electoral Officer S Chokkalingam said on Saturday. So far, 308 unlicensed weapons have been seized and prohibitory orders have been initiated against 13,000 people. The seized cash includes the maximum amount was seized from Mumbai. Out of the total Rs 23.7 crore, Rs 2 crore was seized from mumbai city and Rs 3.6 crore from mumbai suburban district.

Mumbai suburban area also remained at the forefront in the seizure of drugs. Out of the total drug seizure of Rs 158 crore, drugs worth Rs 102 crore were seized from mumbai Suburban district.
