Orange alert for Kanyakumari..!? Heavy rain in the next 5 days..!?
In tamil Nadu, an orange alert has been issued as heavy rain is likely to occur in Kanyakumari district today. An atmospheric downward circulation prevails over the Kumari sea and adjacent areas. Due to this, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning and gusty winds (40 kmph to 50 kmph) may occur at a few places in tamil Nadu, Puduvai, and Karaikal today. Heavy to very heavy rain at one or two places in Kanyakumari district and heavy rain at one or two places in Nilgiris, coimbatore, Theni, Dindigul, Virudhunagar, Thenkasi, tirunelveli and Tuticorin districts.
Tomorrow, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning and gusty winds (40 kmph to 50 kmph) may occur at a few places in tamil Nadu, Puduwai, and Karaikal. Dindigul, Theni, Thenkasi, tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Virudhunagar, and Ramanathapuram districts received heavy rainfall at one or two places. On May 16, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning and gusty winds (30 kmph to 40 kmph) may occur at many places in tamil Nadu, Puduwai, and Karaikal. Kanyakumari, tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Cuddalore, Thenkasi, Theni, Dindigul, coimbatore and Nilgiris districts and Karaikal regions received heavy rain.

On May 19 and 20, light to moderate rain may occur at many places in tamil Nadu, Puduwai, and Karaikal.
