Maharashtra Legislative Council Member (MLC) and bjp leader Parinay Phuke's sister-in-law priya Phuke held a press conference in nagpur on wednesday (May 28) and made serious allegations against her late husband's family. She said that she is repeatedly receiving death threats from the family and despite seeking help from political leaders, no concrete action has been taken. priya Phuke claimed that she was not informed about her husband Sankate Phuke's kidney transplant even after marriage, although that surgery had taken place two years before the marriage.
I received death threats when my husband got cancer - priya Phuke
priya Phuke was accompanied by shiv sena (UBT) leader sushma Andhare and nationalist congress party (Sharad Pawar faction) women's wing president rohini Khadse at the press conference. Both of them alleged that priya was mentally harassed by her in-laws, was not given a share in the property and an attempt was made to throw her out of the house. priya said, "My husband Sankate was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2022. Since then I am being threatened with death. I was not included in any property-related matter and an attempt was made to throw me out of the house at 10 pm."
Family members rejected the allegations
Meanwhile, reacting to this entire dispute, mother-in-law Rama Phuke has rejected priya Phuke's allegations. He said, "We are unable to understand what priya is angry about or what she wants to take revenge for. We tried to resolve the matter through family talks several times, but unfortunately we failed. sushma Andhare and rohini Khadse should not give political color to our family disputes." Rama also said that she wants her daughter-in-law and grandchildren to live a happy and peaceful life.
The matter is now gaining political momentum as it has seen the public participation of leaders from the shiv sena (UBT) and the ncp (SP). There has been no official response from the bjp so far. The controversy has not only exposed the personal troubles of the Phuke family but also the complexity between politics and family relations. priya Phuke finally demanded that she and her children be given protection and justice be ensured.
