
A big plan has been made from 2026 to 2031 to improve the cities of Uttar Pradesh. A total of ₹ 1.29 lakh crore will be spent on this scheme. Its purpose is to make the cities more clean, safe, modern and environmentally friendly. Recently this plan has been shown to the central government, in which a complete blueprint of the work to be done in the next five years has been given. In this, along with improving roads, drains and other infrastructure, efforts will be made to make the lives of the people easier. The needs of children, women, elderly and animals have also been taken care of in the scheme. Also, importance has been given to things related to technology and environment.
The biggest part of this scheme is to build a better road network in the cities, for which ₹ 30,000 crore will be spent. This will make movement within the cities easier and there will be better connectivity with nearby towns, which will open new avenues of business and employment. A drainage scheme of Rs 27,500 crore has been made to prevent waterlogging in cities. This scheme will help in draining out rainwater properly. Keeping cleanliness and health in mind, Rs 15,000 crore will be spent on sewerage and toilet management.
Rs 9900 crore plan to provide clean water
A separate budget of Rs 5,387 crore has been kept for their maintenance. There is a plan of Rs 9,900 crore to provide clean water to every house, and Rs 8,286 crore has been kept for its repair and maintenance. To make the cities green and environment friendly, this scheme includes greenery and gardening related projects worth Rs 1,265 crore.
Apart from this, electric crematoriums will be built at a cost of Rs 990 crore, which will help in reducing pollution. 3120 crores will be spent to improve the air quality in 17 big cities and 3 NCR regions. Its aim is to provide clean and safe air to the people. The aim of all these schemes is to make the cities more clean, green and healthy. Many new schemes have been made to make the lives of the people living in these cities better and safer.
