The trump administration has halted a portion of the military aid to ukraine after reviewing America's own stockpile. The white house and the Pentagon have also confirmed this.

White house spokeswoman Anna Kelly said, 'This decision has been taken to prioritize America's interests after reviewing our country's military support and assistance to other countries around the world.' Several US media outlets, citing sources, reported that the move was taken amid concerns that US military reserves were too low.

According to news agency Xinhua, last month US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a memorandum ordering a review of US stockpiles of weapons after three years of aid to ukraine, Yemen's Houthi group and recent attacks on Iran.

According to media reports, the review found that the stockpile of some of the weapons pledged earlier was extremely low. Defense Under Secretary for Policy Elbridge Colby said the Pentagon would continue to provide the president with strong options to continue military assistance to ukraineconsistent with his goal of ending this war.

At the same time, the department is rigorously reviewing and adapting its approach to achieving this goal, so as to protect the readiness of US forces and the administration's defense priorities, Colby said.

After meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during the NATO summit held in The Hague last week, US President donald trump told reporters that ukraine is very keen to receive Patriot air defense missiles from the US.

Trump said, "They want anti-missile missiles. We will see if we can provide some. We also need them. We are also giving them to Israel. These are very effective, 100 percent effective. It is hard to believe how effective they are. ukraine needs these more than anything else." According to a report, the US has provided more than $66 billion in military aid and weapons to ukraine since the Russia-Ukraine conflict began in february 2022.
