Congress mp Priyanka gandhi Vadra countered prime minister Narendra Modi’s comments made before the Winter Session of Parliament.
She stated that raising issues like the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and Delhi’s worsening air pollution is not “drama.”
According to her, democracy exists to discuss public concerns, and silencing such conversations is the real theatrical behavior.

She emphasized that Parliament’s purpose is meaningful discussion, not avoidance of accountability.

PM Modi urged Opposition leaders to avoid turning parliament into a stage for theatrics.
He remarked that parliament requires ‘delivery, not drama,’ and the focus should be on policy instead of slogans.
Claimed that the Opposition’s approach in the past 10 years is no longer acceptable to citizens and suggested that they should change their strategy.
Expressed concern that first-time MPs are being denied opportunities to participate in debates due to disruptions.

The Opposition intends to push for debates on priority public issues, especially:
Issues related to the SIR of the electoral rolls
Suicides of Booth Level Officers (BLO)
National security concerns following the 10 november Delhi terror attack
They criticized the government for shortening the session from the usual 20 sittings to 15.
Accused the government of curbing democratic debate and derailing the Parliamentary process.
Meanwhile, the government has listed 14 Bills for consideration during the session.
