The 'World university Games 2023' is in progress' at Chengdu, China. The competition started on the 28th of this month and will continue till the 8th of August. In this, many players and players have participated on behalf of India. These games, which were supposed to be held in 2021, have been postponed due to the coronavirus and are currently being held.

A total of 18 matches are played in this series. indian sportswomen participate in events such as badminton, tennis, table tennis, archery, fencing, shooting and judo. In this, Ilavenil Valarivan from tamil Nadu also participated in the shooting competition. Hailing from Cuddalore, she has been participating in shooting competitions since her school days.

In the last 2012 london Olympic gold medal winner Kagan Narang, Ilavenil participated in the 2016 state-level competition and scored 250.6 points to set a world record. She also won the senior championship held in Kerala. To top it all off, she won 2 gold medals in the 2018 World Shooting Competition. 

In this situation, she won the gold in the women's category of the 10m air rifle category in the international inter-university shooting competition held yesterday by recording a tremendous victory by scoring 252.5 points.  This victory of Ilavenil has made tamil Nadu proud.
