Instagram accounts of many Pakistani cricketers including former pakistan captain Babar Azam have been blocked in India. This action has been taken after the terrorist attack in pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The Pakistani cricketers whose instagram accounts have been blocked include Babar, shaheen Afridi, Hasan Ali, Imam ul Haq and captain Mohammad Rizwan.

After the pahalgam attack, india has taken many strict steps against Pakistan. india has blocked the YouTube channels and instagram accounts of many Pakistani athletes, cricketers, and tv artists. india also blocked the instagram account of Olympic champion javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem on Thursday and now in this episode, star cricketers of pakistan have also come under the wraps.


Those trying to open the instagram accounts of these cricketers including Babar and Rizwan in India are getting this message, 'This account is not available in India. This decision was taken after a legal request to this effect.' On clicking on the legal request, it is written, 'We received a legal request to ban this account. We reviewed it against our policies and conducted a legal and human rights assessment. After the review, we restricted access to the content where it is against local law.'

26 people were killed in the terrorist attack in pahalgam on april 22, most of whom were tourists. After this terrorist attack, the indian government took many strict decisions, one of which included a ban on YouTube channels and instagram accounts of many Pakistanis who spread inflammatory and sensitive communal content. The YouTube channels on which action has been taken also include channels of many former Pakistani cricketers. These include the channel of Shoaib Akhtar, famous as Rawalpindi Express, 'Shoaib Akhtar' (@ShoaibAkhtar100mph), the YouTube channel of former Pakistani captain Basit Ali, 'Basit Ali' (@BasitAliShow), the YouTube channel of former Pakistani captain Rashid Latif and senior journalist Nauman Niaz, 'Caught Behind', the YouTube channel of former Pakistani fast bowler Tanveer Ahmed, 'Tanveer Says' (@Tanveer Says). Apart from this, the YouTube channel 'Wasay Habib' (@WasayHabib) of two YouTubers 'Wasay and Iffi', who ridiculed pakistan after its defeat, has also been closed.
