Till now corona troubled people only physically but started troubling people emotionally. Now, it is creating drift between wife and husband. There are misunderstandings arising between wife and husband. As both wife and husband are staying at homes now a days, these problems are increasing. They are preparing to take divorces too.
On the other side, domestic violence is also increasing. In Rangareddy district, from the march onwards, 515 cases are filed. wife and husband are getting separated for small issues. Corona is taking away woman’s freedom and increasing stress on them. Husbands show their grief on wives due to many reasons like job security, loss in business, alcohol, less payment of salaries etc.
As wife and husband are living together throughout the day, these cases are increasing. Work stress, work from home, drinking during day and night are few reasons for their anger. To help these women and girls suffering from domestic violence physically and sexually, the government has introduced ‘ Sakhi ‘ which is known to everyone. It is known that 1,053 cases are registered through ‘ Sakhi which are increased during lock down period.
