In tribute to the esteemed legacy of Kalathapaswi Kashinadhu K. Vishwanath and his early association with the legendary akkineni nageswara rao, the Vishwanath family, led by Vishwanath's son K. Nagendranath, has introduced the prestigious annual Vishwanath Award. This award is a recognition of Vishwanath's contribution to the film industry and is aimed at inspiring young filmmakers to create impactful and meaningful cinema.


The Vishwanath Award is presented to two outstanding students of annapurna College of Film and media, reflecting the high standards set by the two industry leaders in sound design and direction. Each recipient is granted Rs. 25,000, totaling Rs. 50,000 annually. The awards are announced during the Graduation Film festival and presented at the convocation ceremony.


Established in 2011 by Mr. akkineni nageswara rao and his family, annapurna College of Film and media strives to provide world-class facilities, faculty, and education to aspiring filmmakers. As a pioneer in film education for over a decade, the college plays a crucial role in shaping the next generation of filmmakers.
