Hijab Controversy: Ban intensified in Karnataka??

The karnataka high court is today hearing a petition filed by five girl students against the ban on wearing hijab in a college in Udupi.

Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai on tuesday declared a holiday in schools and colleges in the state for the next three days in view of the intensification of protests in favor and against 'hijab'. Bommai also appealed to everyone for peace.
Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai on his social media page stated - "I plead to all the scholars, educators and administrators of school-colleges as well as all the individuals of karnataka to maintain peace and harmony. I have ordered all high schools and colleges to remain closed for the next three days, cooperation is requested from all the parties.

The police and administration have to intervene as tensions escalated in educational institutions located in Udupi, Shivamogga, Bagalkot, and other parts of the state as protests in favor and against 'hijab' intensified. At the same time, the karnataka high court is hearing today a petition filed by five girl students against the ban on wearing hijab in a college in Udupi.
The court said that the country is always headed by law and constitution and not by emotions and passion. The high court stated that the Constitution is the Bhagavad Gita for us and the high court will hear the matter again on Wednesday.
