The bjp, which is well known for its opposition to triple talaq, is also against polygamy. Unexpectedly, several of the party's leaders appear to have a real talent for managing many marriages!

Meet those bjp leaders:

Arjunlal Meenabjp mp from Udaipur, who took Karwa Chauth to a whole new level last year by celebrating it with not one, but two wives – Meenakshi and Rajkumari!

Samrath Maurya – A bjp bigwig and former panchayat head in Madhya Pradesh, who apparently believes in the saying, “Why have one when you can have more?” He has three wives.

•  Raju Narayan Todsambjp mla from Arni, Maharashtra, proving that when it comes to politics and matrimony, sometimes one just isn’t enough.

•  Babanrao Lonikar – A former bjp minister from Maharashtra, showing us that multitasking isn’t limited to governance.

•  Dhananjay Munde – A former bjp leader turned minister in the BJP-led state government, demonstrating that political alliances aren’t the only alliances he’s good at.

•  Dharmendra – A bjp leader and mp, perhaps finding his own unique way to “balance” the political and familial landscape.

Last year, following the results of the panchayat elections, Maurya made a lighthearted comment that quickly gained notoriety: "People here love me and my wives." Two of his three wives came out on top in the surveys.

Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wants to outlaw polygamy in the state, despite the fact that several bjp politicians have numerous marriages. The assam government is moving on to the next stage, which is the writing of the polygamy prohibition law, after soliciting public feedback on the proposal.

Marriage can be regulated by both the federal and state governments since it is on the concurrent list. A state legislation that clashes with a central law is overruled, according to the Doctrine of Repugnancy (Article 254), unless the state law gets prior consent from the President of India.

It is unclear if the government would move on with passing a law outlawing polygamy given that the party's leaders themselves have many spouses.
