On sunday, the Income Tax Department recovered Rs 351 crore in unaccounted cash from premises belonging to congress Rajya Sabha mp Dheeraj Sahu in odisha and Jharkhand. This will be the "highest-ever" amount of black money seized by any agency in a single operation. The raids began on december 6, and police have so far counted 140 bags of cash out of a total of 176.
Officials were attempting to complete the counting of cash collected during the searches by Sunday.
