According to naveen Kopparam, a user on X (previously known as Twitter), a dosa vendor near his home earns around Rs 20,000 per day, or Rs 6 lakh per month. The vendor specializes in South indian cuisine. After expenditures are subtracted, the seller receives around Rs 3-3.5 lakh each month.

The article on X has sparked a social media debate over indian tax and earnings regulations. Debate over the benefits of salaried workers and vendors has been triggered by the viral article. Additionally, Kopparam stated in a post on X, "A street food dosa seller next to my house earns an average of 20,000 per day, which adds up to 6 lakhs each month. His monthly income, without all costs, is between 3 and 3.5 lakhs. doesn't pay any income tax at all.

Social media users took notice of this message and considered their careers. While a private firm employee made $60,000 a month and was required to pay 10% of their income in taxes, a dosa vendor made $300,000 a month and was exempt from paying any taxes.

Naveen Kopparam went on to say, "but a salaried employee earning 60k a month ends up paying 10% of his earning."

"Before we get down there," one user remarked.
What about medical professionals, attorneys, tea shops, garages, and vendors in the city's business districts? Many of them take annual trips abroad, remodel their houses, and purchase new cars, yet they never pay taxes.

"How and why?"

Another user added, "They don't get corporate insurance , hard to get car /home / bike loans , no PF , no assured income + he probably pays more GST than Income tax of 60k earning software engg. english speaking twitteratti shld comedown from highhorse as if country is running bcoz they file itr."
