'Guns don't fire themselves, people do', will trump change law?

Two people were killed and at least five were injured in a shooting at florida State university on Thursday. The people killed were not students. Now President Donald Trump's statement on this incident has come out. When trump was asked a question about gun law in the press conference, he said, "Guns don't fire themselves, but people do."

While signing other government orders from the Oval office, trump said, "Look, I have been a supporter of America's Second Amendment (right to keep guns) from the beginning. I have always supported it. These incidents are very sad, but bullets don't fire guns, people do."

Earlier, when trump was about to meet Italian prime minister Giorgia Meloni, he called the shooting at FSU "shameful". However, he also made it clear that he is not in favor of any change in America's gun laws. He further said, "As far as making new laws is concerned, this issue has been going on for a long time. My job is to protect the Second Amendment. I have worked on this before and I will always work to protect it."

Suspect taken into custody

Officials said that the gun used in this attack belonged to the mother of 20-year-old suspect Phoenix Ikner. His mother has been working in the sheriff's office for a long time. This gun was her old government service gun. Phoenix, who is believed to be a student enrolled in the university, was shot and injured by the police and then taken into custody.

Michael Lawler, professor of criminal justice at the university of New Haven, Connecticut, said, "There is a growing fear that anything can happen at any time and whenever this happens, this fear becomes even stronger."
