As 2025 draws to a close, it would seem appropriate to remind you of the Marvel and DC projects that are still in the works for the following six months. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, which defied almost everyone's expectations, opened the year. The underwhelming Captain America: Brave New World followed, marking yet another setback for Marvel Studios in the Multiverse Saga.

The Birth of Daredevil  helped the franchise recover once more, as did the critically acclaimed but poorly received film Thunderbolts*. The rest of 2025 is a bit of a mixed bag, especially because several of these titles are from the MCU's "quantity over quality era." The DC front has been quiet (for the time being, at least). The most recent trailers or sneak peeks for each of them are included below, along with a reminder of what's coming up.

7. Ironheart (June 24)
Ironheart might surprise us if this is indeed where we meet Mephisto (and the stage is set for Armor Wars), even if it seems like this series might go either way. When Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), a young, brilliant scientist driven to leave her mark on the world, returns to her birthplace of Chicago, Ironheart, which is set after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, fights technology against magic.

Her inventive approach to creating iron suits is great, but in the process of achieving her goals, she becomes entangled with the enigmatic yet endearing Parker Robbins, also known as "The Hood" (Anthony Ramos).  Anji White, Matthew Elam, Lyric Ross, and Manny Montana are all featured in the series.

6. Superman (July 11)

Next summer, DC Studios' first big-screen feature, Superman, is expected to explode into theaters throughout the globe.  With a unique fusion of epic action, humor, and heart, james Gunn portrays the original superhero in the newly created DC world in his trademark way. He creates a Superman who is motivated by compassion and an innate faith in the goodness of humanity.

5. The Fantastic Four: First Steps (July 25)
This appears to be the film that finally gets this team right, and Marvel's First Family is due for a...well, amazing...movie.  The visuals are amazing, the cast is flawless, and the comic influences are obvious.

Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps presents Marvel's First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach)—as they take on their most difficult task to date, set against the colorful backdrop of a retro-futuristic world inspired by the 1960s.

4. Eyes of Wakanda (August 6)

It's difficult to make a judgment because we don't know anything about Eyes of Wakanda.  But count us in if it has the same degree of authenticity as the Black Panther movie series and there are rumors that we'll face an iron Fist. Brave warriors have been assigned to search the globe for hazardous Vibranium artifacts throughout Wakandan history.  Their story is told in Eyes of Wakanda.

3. Peacemaker Season 2 (August 21)
The debut trailer for Peacemaker left us excited to see these DCEU characters again, even though we have concerns about how season 2 will fit into the DCU and whether it should. Peacemaker season 1 was fantastic.

The second season of Peacemaker, which consists of eight episodes and premieres this summer, follows vigilante Super hero Christopher "Chris" Smith, also known as Peacemaker, as he continues to kick righteous evildoers in his misguided pursuit of peace at all costs while attempting to reconcile his past with his newfound sense of purpose.

2. Marvel Zombies (October 3)

With a TV-MA classification, there's no reason not to be thrilled about Earth's Mightiest Heroes facing up against zombified versions of their fellow heroes, assuming it's better than What If...? season 3. The MCU is reimagined in Marvel Animation's Marvel Zombies, as a new generation of heroes fights against an increasingly prevalent zombie menace.  We think it is set in the same reality as that What If...? episode, though this is not proven.

1. Wonder Man (December)

Does this series seem like just another pointless Marvel series?  Yes, in certain aspects, but that doesn't imply it won't be fantastic.  This might be one of the studio's best films to date if it does Simon Williams justice and offers a clever parody of Hollywood. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, star of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, will portray Wonder Man, and Demetrius Grosse (Fear the Walking Dead) will play his brother, The Grim Reaper, a legendary Avengers villain.
