In a significant stride towards educational reform, himachal pradesh chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced that the government Senior Secondary school (GSSS) in Barsar, hamirpur district, will be affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary education (CBSE) starting the next academic session. This move is part of a broader initiative to enhance the quality of education across the state.
1. Barsar school Joins the CBSE League
GSSS Barsar is set to become the 21st government school in himachal pradesh to receive CBSE affiliation. The chief minister made this announcement during a public gathering in the Barsar assembly constituency, emphasizing the government's commitment to improving educational standards.
2. A Statewide Transformation
So far, 20 government schools in himachal pradesh have been recognized by the CBSE. The state government plans to expand this initiative, aiming to convert 100 government schools to CBSE-affiliated institutions in the coming years. These schools will feature modern amenities such as smart classrooms, distinctive uniforms, and well-equipped mess facilities offering nutritious meals.
3. Focus on Infrastructure and Quality
The transition to CBSE is accompanied by significant investments in educational infrastructure. The government is working to fill vacant teaching positions, enhance school facilities, and improve overall educational outcomes. These efforts have already led to an improvement in the state's national education ranking, moving from 21st to 5th place.
4. Holistic Development Plans for Barsar
Beyond education, the chief minister announced several development projects for Barsar. These include upgrading the local hospital to a 100-bed facility, establishing a cancer Institute at hamirpur Medical college with an investment of ₹300 crore, and setting up an indoor stadium and parking facilities in Barsar. Additionally, plans are underway to start MA and M.Com classes at the local government college and to install solar and high-mast lights in various gram panchayats and the main market area.
5. A Model for Rural Education
The government's focus on rural education is evident in the development of rajiv gandhi Day-Boarding Schools, which provide academic and recreational facilities to students in rural areas. These institutions aim to bridge the educational gap between urban and rural regions, ensuring that quality education is accessible to all.
6. A Vision for the Future
Chief minister Sukhu's initiatives reflect a comprehensive approach to educational reform, combining infrastructure development with curriculum enhancement. The state's commitment to quality education is poised to set a benchmark for other regions, ensuring that students receive the best possible learning experiences.
The affiliation of GSSS Barsar with CBSE marks a pivotal moment in Himachal Pradesh's educational journey, promising a brighter future for students in the state.
