The latest Hurun Global Rich List for 2024 showcases a significant reshuffle among the world's wealthiest individuals, with Meta Platforms CEO mark zuckerberg making a notable entry. Despite not clinching the top spot, Zuckerberg's wealth skyrocketed, more than doubling due to the remarkable surge in Meta's shares.

However, the list also saw some prominent figures dropping out, including François Bettencourt Meyers of L'Oréal and Bertrand Puech of Hermes. Despite his absence from this list, tesla CEO Elon Musk continues to hold the title of the world's richest person, with a staggering wealth of $231 billion. Musk's dominance is attributed to the continued success of tesla and SpaceX, securing his top position for the third time in four years.


Following closely behind Musk is amazon founder Jeff Bezos, whose wealth surged to $185 billion, largely fuelled by the impressive performance of Amazon's cloud computing division. Bernard Arnault, despite facing significant losses with LVMH, secured the third position with a wealth of $175 billion.


Mark Zuckerberg's meteoric rise in wealth places him fourth on the list with $158 billion, thanks to the exponential growth of Meta's shares. Larry Ellison, propelled by Oracle's advancements in cloud services, follows Zuckerberg with a wealth of $144 billion, showcasing a notable increase of $44 billion in 2024.


Renowned investor warren buffett maintains his position on the list with a wealth of $144 billion, while former microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer's fortune surged by 41 percent, earning him the seventh spot with $143 billion. Bill Gates, known for his astute investments, ranks eighth with a wealth of $138 billion, marking a 25 percent increase in 2024.


Rounding out the top ten is Larry Page, whose wealth soared by approximately 64 percent to reach $123 billion, securing the ninth position on the list. The Hurun Global Rich List for 2024 underscores the dynamic nature of wealth accumulation in today's rapidly evolving global economy.
