46-yr-old gave birth to triplets, NICU 225 days, what happened next?
Recently another case of miracle of medical science has come to light where a 46-year-old woman has given birth to triplets through IVF. This woman was suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure. All three babies were born in just 25 weeks. The combined weight of all three babies was 2.5 kg. All three girls were treated for about 225 days in a private hospital in Faridabad. After the hard work of doctors and nurses, the miracle happened which everyone had least expected. After 225 days, all three girls recovered completely and reached home. This is the first case of its kind in india where triplets born in such a short time are completely healthy without any problem.
The mother's condition was very critical
This case is of 46-year-old professor jyotsna of delhi University who gave birth to three girls simultaneously through IVF. Let us tell you that after marriage, she tried for a normal pregnancy for a long time. Even after a lot of treatment, she could not become a mother. Many years passed in treatment but jyotsna could not become a mother, due to which she had to listen to a lot of things from people. Finally, one decision changed her life and despite having diabetes and high blood pressure, she got the happiness of becoming a mother. Although her pregnancy was at high risk due to these two diseases, IVF was her last chance. In the last days of pregnancy, professor jyotsna got many infections including pneumonia. When her condition worsened, she was kept in the ICU and three children were born through C-section in emergency.
The girls remained in the NICU for 225 days
The girls were born prematurely. The condition of all the three girls born at 25 weeks was very critical. Usually it is difficult to save children born in such a short time but the hospital team with full dedication and hard work did a miracle which was least expected. Senior neonatologist Dr. hemant Sharma along with a team of 6 doctors and 20 nurses worked day and night. The special thing is that none of the three girls needed to be kept on ventilator. The children were started to be fed milk within 9 hours of birth and by the fourth day they started drinking mother's milk completely. During the 225 days stay in NICU, neither any child got infection in the hospital nor any bleeding in the brain. This is a big thing in itself.
