Jurassic World Dominion has the lowest Rotten Tomatoes score of the entire franchise. The sixth instalment in the adventure series will wrap up the saga that began with Steven Spielberg's critically acclaimed Jurassic Park in 1993. Set four years after the events of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which saw the original theme park destroyed by a volcano eruption, Jurassic World Dominion finds the last dinosaurs coexisting freely with humans.

While critics and moviegoers all over the world adored Jurassic Park, the dinosaur franchise has struggled to match the enchantment of the original film. Even Spielberg's highly anticipated sequel The Lost World: Jurassic Park, which has a pathetic 53 percent critic rating and a middling 51 percent consumer rating on Rotten Tomatoes, failed to live up to its own hype. Jurassic Park III, directed by Joe Johnston and released in 2001, has a 48 percent critic rating. Following a 14-year absence, the 2015 soft reboot Jurassic World showed promise for a successful franchise resuscitation, receiving the second-highest Fresh rating in the series at 71 percent. Its two sequels, on the other hand, have received mixed reviews from critics.

On the review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, Jurassic World Dominion has a franchise low rating of 39 percent as of this writing. The upcoming picture outperformed the series' last low point, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which received a mixed 47 percent from critics. Although Jurassic World Dominion currently has a low rating, it is expected to rise in the coming weeks as more reviews are received.
