Saffron Shawls vs Hijab in colleges..?

Protests have erupted over the karnataka government's ban on students wearing religiously charged clothing on school campuses. This sparked controversy across the country. In this context, today more than 100 students of Bandarkar college in Kundapur, Udupi came to the college wearing saffron shawls and chanting jai Sri Ram.

 Students marched half a kilometer to register opposition to wearing the hijab. Islamic students, on the other hand, marched alone wearing hijabs over their uniforms. All of them were detained by the police and dispersed from the crowd to prevent clashes.
    
 Holidays were also announced for the college today. In this context, karnataka Home minister Araga Jnanendra said that children should not wear either hijab or saffron scarf at school. He added that school is a place where people of all faiths can study together. All are children of Bharat Mata. Some religious organizations are trying to harm the unity of the country. police have been ordered to monitor them. 
This is the second such incident in BJP-ruled Karnataka. The protest started a month ago at a women’s college in Udupi. students there are still struggling to get permission to wear hijab and sit in class. Moreover, it is noteworthy that this controversial incident is erupting in other parts of the state.
