According to Telangana's minister for industries and Information technology K.T. Rama Rao, who is now visiting the US, hyderabad has become the most popular investment location for US aerospace and defence industries. According to a statement from the minister's office in hyderabad, he presided over the aerospace and defence roundtable in washington dc during the tour, which was attended by notable US majors, consultancy companies, think tanks, and startups.

According to the statement, ktr, as the minister is called, highlighted the phenomenal expansion of the aerospace industry and private sector defence investments in telangana during the previous nine years. He said that Telangana's focus industry is aerospace and defence and claimed that by taking home the top state honours for aerospace for three consecutive years in 2018, 2020, and 2022, telangana has accomplished a great accomplishment. In addition, hyderabad was named the No. 1 Aerospace City of the Future in the Financial Times FDI rankings for 2020–21. According to him, these awards demonstrate the State's forward-thinking attitude towards the aerospace industry.

Numerous industrial facilities for US corporations are located in telangana, including a joint venture between Lockheed Martin and Tata Group that produces and distributes Sikorsky helicopter cabins, C130 J empennages, and F 16 wings. Similar to this, the complete Apache fuselage, Chinook aerostructures including the tail and nose cones, and vertical stabilisers for the 737 series of aircraft are produced by a joint venture between Boeing and TATA.

Telangana has built a number of specialised clusters for aerospace and precision engineering with top-notch infrastructure. The majority of the large projects of the Tata Group and its US JV partners are housed at Adibatla Aerospace SEZ, one of the earliest aerospace SEZs in the nation.


The minister emphasised how the innovative industrial policy, TS-iPASS, helped increase industry trust by issuing online, transparent, time-bound approvals based on self-certifications. Leaders from industry behemoths met with ktr in New York and Washington. The topics of conversation were potential investments and growth strategies.

KTR discussed existing manufacturing initiatives in hyderabad and upcoming new programmes with Ray Piselli, VP international business and Global business Development, and Dave Sutton, director for international Government Affairs, of Lockheed Martin Corporation.
