Union home minister amit shah introduced three bills to replace British-inherited laws in the lok sabha on the last day of the monsoon session of Parliament. Regarding these bills, Shah claimed in the house that sedition has been abolished in the new proposed law, while special care has been taken for the safety of women and children, but the

legal experts have different opinions about this bill. are. The country's famous advocate and rajya sabha MP Kapil

Sibal has taken a jibe at the bjp and the central government regarding the proposed draft of one of the three laws i.e.

the indian Judicial Code Bill 2023 (BNS 2023).

Kapil Sibal has termed the proposed indian Justice Code 2023 as an agenda to silence political opponents. He cites

three arguments in favor of his allegation. The first is that BNS 2023 allows the use of draconian police powers for

political purposes. Secondly, if it is passed, the police will be allowed to keep any person in police custody for 15 to 60

or 90 days. Citing the third reason, he says that it gives unilateral power to the police to prosecute persons who

threaten the security of the state.

Can't rule out the possibility

Let us inform that on the last day of the monsoon session of the Parliament, the home minister introduced 3 Bills in

the Lok Sabha. These include indian Justice Code 2023, indian Civil Defense Code 2023 and indian Evidence Bill 2023. If

these bills are passed in future, they will replace IPC, CrPC and indian Evidence Act. Not only this, as soon as the Bill

becomes law, the police machinery will decide its line of action against criminal activities according to the new laws.

Kapil Sibal says that passing BNS will give such powers to the police which can be used by the ruling party to suppress

the opponents.
