If we look at chhattisgarh, the government of raman singh was being formed under the leadership of BJP

thrice in the state, but in the year 2018, bjp had to face a crushing defeat. There are a total of 90 assembly

seats in the state, out of which bjp had won only 15 seats. If we look at the reserved seats in the state, BJP

suffered a bigger setback in 2018 than in 2013. While the number of seats reserved for sc and st in the

state is 39, bjp had won only 6 of these seats. However, in the 2013 elections, bjp had won 9 out of 10 seats

reserved for SCs. Which reduced to 2 in 2018. Apart from this, the party had won only four out of 29 seats

reserved for STs.

Due to poor performance of bjp on these seats, congress got three-fourth majority in the state.

On the other hand, bjp dominated the lok sabha elections in the state and the party won 9 out of 11 seats in

the state. After which the message spread in the state that the party had lost the assembly elections under the

leadership of Raman Singh. At the same time, bjp has won in the lok sabha elections on the face of Modi.

At present, bjp in the state has faces like Arun Sao, Brijmohan Aggarwal and ajay Chandrakar as

alternatives to Raman Singh. According to the report of india Today, a party leader has said that the party

will fight the elections focusing on collective leadership instead of announcing the cm candidate. Regarding

the cm face, chhattisgarh bjp General Secretary OP Chaudhary says that only Modi is the leader of the

entire party.
