Conflicts about politics between sonia gandhi and Rajesh Pilot...

Disapproved of sonia and Sharad Pawar's entrance

Sharad Pawar and Rajesh Pilot were the first Congressmen to oppose sonia gandhi when she entered politics. At the same time, they both began organizing on multiple fronts to oppose Sonia. Tariq Anwar and PA Sangma also endorsed both. Within the congress, the opposition voice grew over time, and sharad pawar eventually quit the organization. Tariq Anwar and PA Sangma resigned from congress along with Pawar. Although there were rumours that Rajesh Pilot might also depart, Pilot made it quite evident that he would not be abandoning the celebration.

Rajesh Pilot had stated at the time, in an interview with the Rediff website, that his protest was about beliefs and that he would continue to voice it while remaining in the party. He had stated that the party was not the property of any family in response to the subject of direct opposition to the gandhi family.

Rather than congress voters, the audience attended Sonia's rally.

Following the Congress's resounding defeat in the 1998 and 1999 lok sabha elections, Rajesh Pilot had taken aim at the party's upper echelons. Concerns regarding the gandhi family's kitchen cabinet had also been brought up by the pilot. Pilot had stated it was time to consider why congress keeps losing elections. Pilot had also made fun of the people assembling for sonia Gandhi's demonstration. Pilot said that the people in attendance at sonia Gandhi's event were not members of the Congress. Pilot strongly disagreed with two of sonia Gandhi's major choices: joining forces with jayalalitha and joining the party of Lalu Yadav. According to Pilot, by siding with both parties, congress is hurting itself in this situation.
