School education and Literacy Department minister Madhu Bangarappa said that 500 government schools in the state are being converted into karnataka Public Schools next year.

On Tuesday, when he visited Shivlingappa Basappa Horatti Public school of Yadahalli in Mudhol taluk, he received an honor from the school officials and said that the country's asset is in children's education and 500 schools are being taken up in the first phase. He said that he visited Horatti Public school of Yadahalli, which is a model for the state, and came to see the facilities here.

Facilities for learning including well-equipped laboratory and playground are being provided. In the first phase, 500 schools in the state are being developed. He said that after the next three years, the government intends to convert 3,000 government schools into karnataka public schools, one for each gram panchayat.

On this occasion, GP Sashidhara Kurera, Deputy director of Public education Department BK Nandanur, Mudhola Tehsildar Vinod Hatnalli, Public school Principal VP Petlura, Vice Principal Rajasekhara Hiremath and others were present.

The school has been developed to be a model for educating rural children from nursery to graduation. A separate dormitory and hi-tech toilets have been constructed for male and female students.
