Senior IPS officer Shankhabrata Bagchi has recently been appointed as the in-charge DGP of AP. He took over from the current DG KV Rajendranath reddy a short time ago. According to reliable sources, he will continue in this position till the ec issues further orders on the appointment of DG. Otherwise, the election commission issued an order against DG Rajendranath reddy on Sunday. In this context, it seems that he has been ordered to be relieved from duty immediately. It has given orders to send the list of three DG rank level officers for the post of DGP before 11 am on Monday.

However, there are criticisms in the state that Rajendranath reddy has been supporting ycp ever since he took charge as ap DGP. It is known to all that the leaders of the respective parties have been accused of not paying attention to the attacks and demonstrations on the opposition parties. He expressed anger that even after the election code came, he was acting to benefit the ruling party. There has been severe criticism of the undermining of trade unions calling for protests to exercise their legal rights. There was a campaign that he was giving appointment to the opposition only after the election code. The opposition has alleged that if he is the DGP, the elections will not be transparent.

It seems that the ec, which investigated these complaints, has not transferred the DGP. He was ordered not to be entrusted with any duties related to the elections till the completion of the general elections. After the transfer of Rajendranath reddy, there is a lot of interest on who will be appointed as the new DGP. However, there is a discussion in police circles that rtc MD dwaraka Tirumala Rao is likely to be appointed as the new DGP. A 1990 batch IPS officer, he is currently 2nd in the seniority list. He is followed by Road Safety Authority Chairman, 1990 batch IPS officer Anjana Sinha, and 1991 batch IPS officer Madireddy Pratap.
