The hearing of the cases filed against Waqf in the supreme court today (May 5) has been postponed till May 15. Meanwhile, a big statement of Maulana azad National urdu University's former chancellor Firoz Bakht ahmed has come out, in which he has blamed the congress for the looting of Waqf properties.

In a conversation with IANS, Firoz Bakht ahmed has claimed that in the last 55-60 years, Waqf properties have been looted by Congress-appointed chairmen, lawyers, secretaries, and even peon level people of the Waqf Board. He said that during the congress rule, Waqf lands were occupied illegally, and the rents on them were also kept very low, which directly harmed the Muslims.

The former Chancellor also said that "If anyone has looted the properties of Waqf, it has happened during the tenure of Congress. Even a common child, who wants to study medicine, is not able to study due to lack of money because all this looting has happened during the 60 years of rule of Congress."

He praised PM narendra modi and said that when Modi ji came to know about these injustices, he took steps towards improving the systems related to Waqf. Whether it is about getting the land vacated, increasing the rent or giving Muslims their rights - prime minister Modi has worked seriously on this.

Feroze Bakht ahmed said, "PM Modi has given a positive slogan for Muslims that he wants to see Quran in one hand and computer in the other hand of every Muslim." He further said, "I think the entire Muslim community should have embraced Modi ji on this incident."

Targeting the opposition, he said that those who try to mislead Muslims - whether they are Muslims or leftists - should not fall into their trap. Whether it is CAA, NRC, or Article 370, Muslims were misled in all these matters, but now Muslims have also started understanding. Firoz Bakht ahmed believes that this time all Muslims should stand with prime minister Modi in the reforms being done in the Waqf Act.
