While monarchies had been practiced in all countries like Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and Oman, the united states could not tolerate the emergence of a republican regime only in Iran.
In the 80s, crude oil was gold. In monarchies, it is easy to make deals and plunder oil, but in republics, it does not work. Therefore, the united states provoked Iraq. This war lasted for almost seven and a half years. However, neither regime change nor victory in the war could be achieved in Iran. Finally, the war ended when Reagan's term ended.

The reason for this was oil resources. oil from kuwait was flowing to the united states in large quantities.
