Background

Congress has launched a pilot project called the Vote Rakshak Abhiyan to counter alleged vote theft.

Rahul gandhi has repeatedly accused the Modi government and the election commission of not addressing vote manipulation.

To intensify its offensive against the bjp, congress is preparing a two-pronged strategy: mass movement + grassroots campaign.

Pilot Project Details

Five lok sabha seats were selected where congress candidates lost by a narrow margin:

Jaipur Rural (Rajasthan)

Alwar (Rajasthan)

Bansgaon (Uttar Pradesh)

Kanker (Chhattisgarh)

Morena (Madhya Pradesh)

These constituencies will be closely studied to identify assembly segments where losses were minimal.

The Vote Rakshak campaign will first be tested here before expanding nationwide.

Role of Vote Rakshaks

Deployment plan: One Vote Rakshak per 20 polling booths.

Responsibilities include:

Checking voter lists for errors or suspicious deletions/additions.

Preventing bogus voters and fraudulent practices.

Ensuring a strong congress presence at the booth level.

These Vote Rakshaks are being appointed well in advance to complete groundwork before the 2027–28 assembly elections in these constituencies.

Dual Strategy of Congress

1. mass Movement Strategy

Rahul gandhi to keep highlighting alleged vote theft in press conferences and public forums.

Build nationwide awareness and mobilize public opinion against the bjp and the election Commission.

2. Grassroots Strategy

Strengthen booth-level machinery through Vote Rakshaks.

Conduct localized campaigns to safeguard votes.

Ensure every polling booth has Congress’s monitoring system.

Long-Term Plan

The campaign is designed to make vote theft a major political issue leading up to the 2029 lok sabha elections.

If the pilot succeeds, congress will expand the Vote Rakshak Abhiyan nationwide.

Aim: Build organizational strength, secure electoral credibility, and mobilize public trust in Congress’s fight against alleged electoral manipulation.

✅ In short, Congress’s Vote Rakshak campaign blends activism at the top level (Rahul Gandhi’s push) with micro-level election monitoring (Vote Rakshaks) to safeguard its votes ahead of the 2027–28 assembly polls and 2029 general elections.
