PM Vishwakarma Yojana is a central government initiative designed to support traditional artisans and craftspeople with credit access, skill training, toolkits, marketing assistance, and formal recognition.

🧑‍🔧 1. Eligible Individuals

To apply for the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, you must meet these basic eligibility conditions:

Be an indian citizen and resident of India.
Be at least 18 years old on the date of registration.
Work as an artisan or craftsperson in the unorganized sector, engaged in one of the recognised traditional trades on a self‑employment basis.
Actively engaged in your trade at the time of registration — the scheme is for people who are currently practising their craft, not simply interested in it.

📜 2. Only One Member per Family

Only one person per family (defined as husband, wife and unmarried children) can apply and receive benefits under the scheme.

🚫 3. Who Is Not Eligible

Some people cannot apply for the scheme:

Government employees and their family members (spouse and unmarried children).
❌ Individuals who have received loans under similar schemes in the last 5 years — such as PMEGP, PM SVANidhi or Mudra credit‑linked schemes — unless the earlier loans are fully repaid.

👉 This rule ensures that benefits are given to new beneficiaries rather than those who already received significant government support recently.
