Government of karnataka will give a grant of ₹ 5000 to the pilgrims going to kashi vishwanath temple, there is a provision of 'Kashi Yatra' for 30 thousand pilgrims in the budget. The karnataka minister said that the applicant should be above 18 years of age to take the benefit of Kashi Yatra. For this they have to present their age proof. Along with this, any pilgrim can take advantage of this scheme only once in his life.



The karnataka government on monday (27 june 2022) approved the 'Kashi Yatra' project. Under this, 30,000 pilgrims wishing to visit the kashi vishwanath temple in varanasi will be given a cash assistance of Rs 5,000 per person. For this, the Commissioner of Religious Endowment Department has been authorized to use the sanctioned Rs 7 crore for 'Kashi Yatra'.



State Religious Endowments and Haj and Waqf minister Shashikala Jole said that only the natives of karnataka can avail the benefits of this scheme. Voter ID card, aadhar card or ration card etc. will have to be given as proof of domicile.



The minister said that all the applicants who will be taking the benefit of Kashi yatra, their age should be more than 18 years. For this they have to present their age proof. He said that any pilgrim can take the benefit of 'Kashi Yatra' run by the government only once in his life.



He said that those who had visited kashi vishwanath temple from april 1 to june 30 and want to take advantage of this scheme, they will have to submit proofs like their darshan ticket or waiting list, 'puja receipt'. They will have to submit it in the prescribed format to the Commissioner of Religious Endowments Department.
