Saudi Arabia and India's Eid-ul-Fitr moon sighting date...

In addition to fasting from dawn to dusk and abstaining from food and drink, Muslims around the world have been juggling professional and personal chores during the day for a whole month. They have also been breaking bad habits and mending broken relationships by asking for forgiveness from Allah and from those we may have wronged during the quiet of Ramadan with night prayers. Eid-ul-Fitr is the culmination of this journey of transformation. Muslims are preparing to see the Shawwal crescent moon, which will indicate the date of Eid-ul-Fitr 2024 and the beginning of a new month in the Islamic lunar calendar, as Ramadan 2024 draws to a close.

Eid al-Fitr, sometimes called Ramadan Eid or just Eid, is the culmination of the holy month of Ramadan, during which Muslims pray to Allah, read the Holy Quran, and fast from dawn to dark. While the Islamic calendar is based on the sighting of the crescent moon, the Western calendar is based on the Gregorian calendar. As a result, each year, Eid-ul-Fitr falls between 10 and 11 days earlier, depending on when the crescent moon is sighted. This is because lunar months are shorter than solar months, and the timing of the event varies by approximately one day between countries.

The supreme court of saudi arabia has urged all Muslims in the Kingdom to witness the new crescent moon on monday, Ramadan 29, 1445 Hijri, which corresponds to april 8, 2024, the end of Ramadan and the beginning of the month of Shawwal. The Middle East, USA, UK, Canada, and other countries began fasting on march 11, 2024.

The day of Eid-ul-Fitr, which falls on april 9, 2024, will be celebrated if Muslims in saudi arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt, Turkey, Iran, the United Kingdom, and other Middle Eastern and Western countries see the Shawwal crescent moon on april 8 evening, after breaking the Ramadan fast at maghrib or evening payers. However, if the Shawwal crescent is not seen on monday evening, chand raat will take place on Tuesday, april 09, and Eid-ul-Fitr will fall on Wednesday, april 10, 2024. This means that Muslims may observe a 30-day fast this Ramadan instead of 29 days. Muslims in india and other South Asian nations will observe Eid-ul-Fitr on Thursday, april 11, 2023, and will continue their fast on Wednesday.
