Neeraj Chopra writes history and wins gold for India!!!

Neeraj Chopra added the gold medal from the World Athletics Championships to his long list of achievements. Chopra, who was already one of only two indians to win a World Championship, is now the only athlete from his nation to win two medals in the competition and the first to take home the gold. Chopra had gotten things going in the sunday final in Budapest with a foul throw. He was able to throw the javelin 88.17 metres on his second attempt, which ended up being the winning one. It enabled him to maintain his lead over Czech Republic's Jakub Vadlejch and Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem, who himself made history for his nation by winning silver.
Before the indian national anthem was performed, Neeraj received his gold medal in a formal podium ceremony following the conclusion of the day's competitions. He hands over a cash payment of $70,000 (roughly Rs. 58 lakh). Jakub Vadlejch of the czech republic (86.67m) and Nadeem (87.82m) respectively took home the silver and bronze. A $35,000 cash award was given to Nadeem. Vadlech received $22,000.
After his idol Jan Zelezny and Andreas Thorkildsen of Norway, Neeraj is now the only other javelin thrower to have won gold in the continental, olympic, and world championships. He had already won gold at the Asian Games in Jakarta in 2018, the olympics in tokyo in 2020, and the World Athletics Championships in 2023. He is the first javelin thrower from india to win gold at the World Championships in athletics, the olympics, the Asian Games, and the Commonwealth Games. In addition, he won the Diamond League in 2022 and was the junior world champion in 2016.
