An incidence of a female conductor hitting an elderly woman was reported from Hubballi city on Friday, despite the state government issuing a circular instructing staff of the state-owned transport firms to act politely with female passengers. The event happened aboard a bus that was traveling from Kundgol to Hubballi. A 55-second video depicts the conductor and the elderly woman getting into a fight.

The conductor smacks the female passenger and tells her to be quiet as they continue to dispute. The elderly grandmother, however, vehemently opposes and smacks the conductor in the act. Public outcry over the occurrence has led to the personnel of the state-owned transport businesses receiving negative press.
