Xi jinping secures historic third term!!!
Chinese President Xi jinping was re-elected for a record third time as the General Secretary of the Communist party of China. Xi jinping will again take over as the President of china for five years. This privilege was given only to the founder of the party, Mao Zedong. Xi, 69, was elected to the central committee a day earlier despite crossing the official retirement age of 68 years and serving a 10-year term. Several senior leaders, including Premier Li Keqiang, the number two leader, have either retired or have failed to make it to the Central Committee.
Members of the Central Committee on sunday elected the 25-member Political Bureau, which chose the members of the Standing Committee to govern the country. Soon after his election, Xi appeared before the media along with the newly-elected standing committee on Sunday.
Xi said at the conclusion of the 20th congress on saturday that the amendment to the constitution sets out clear requirements for maintaining and strengthening the party's leadership.
At the same time, the Communist convention in china ended in a dramatic fashion on saturday and in front of the media, former President Hu Jintao was taken off the stage and shown the way out. Hu Jintao was sitting in the first row in the Great Hall of the people with current President Xi jinping and other top leaders when two men asked him to leave the meeting.
Hu Jintao is forcibly thrown out of the convention
The two men who took Hu Jinto out were security personnel. A nearly one-minute video of the incident has gone viral on social media, in which Jintao is seen reluctant to leave, while security personnel are seen convincing him to leave.
