A. Ganeshamurthi, the MDMK mp from Erode, tamil Nadu, passed away early on thursday morning at a private hospital in Coimbatore. 76-year-old Ganeshamurthi was furious that he was not given a ticket to run in the lok sabha elections. On Sunday, he apparently tried to end his life by eating poison.

He was sent to a public hospital in Erode at first, but when his health worsened, he was moved to a coimbatore private hospital. Ganeshamurthi's death was caused by pesticide poisoning, as per his family, who claim he consumed on Sunday.

Ganeshamurthi, who was elected to the lok sabha in 2019 on the DMK ticket, reportedly became uneasy and was taken to a private hospital in the city on march 24. He was put on a ventilator and brought to the intensive care unit following a preliminary examination, as reported by PTI. Later on, the lok sabha mp relocated to a neighboring private hospital in Coimbatore.

Several politicians, including AIADMK leader K v Ramalingam, bjp Modakurichi mla Dr. C Saraswathy, and state minister for housing and urban development S Muthusamy, had hurried to the hospital to inquire about Ganeshamurthi's condition.

Three-time mp Ganeshamurthi had important roles in the MDMK hierarchy. According to reports, he was angry because the party had denied him a ticket to run in the next lok sabha elections from the Erode constituency. The DMK has chosen to award the MDMK the seat in Tiruchy and has nominated a candidate in Erode. The MDMK's nominee from Tiruchy is Durai vaiko, the son of general secretary Vaiko.
