Vishal Agarwal, a 17-year-old builder's son from Brahma Realty and Infrastructure, killed Aneesh Awadhia and ashwini Koshta after he crashed his drunken porsche Taycan into another automobile. Involved physicians in pune Blood sample exchange for the accused in the porsche case is suspended.
For a number of reasons, including the accused's bail being granted within 15 hours of the occurrence and several attempts at cover-up, this hit-and-run case caused widespread indignation. The maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) recently suspended the registrations of Dr. ajay Taware, the former head of the forensic sciences department at Sassoon General Hospital, and Dr. Shrihari Halnor, the former casualty medical officer (CMO). In the matter of exchanging the accused teen's blood sample, the two are on trial.
This followed the MMC's request for committee reports and documentation from the medical education department and the pune police. The council decided to suspend both licenses in light of these materials. Interestingly, the CMO who treated the accused following the accident was Shrihari Halnor. According to the pune police, Halnor switched the blood samples at Taware's request. On May 27, 2024, both of them were taken into custody after the findings of blood tests performed on the accused youngster at two different hospitals differed. The pune Police's assumption that the samples at the Sassoon hospital were switched was validated by the results.
The investigation later revealed that the blood sample of the accused youngster was exchanged for the blood sample of his mother, a co-accused who is also incarcerated alongside the accused's father, in exchange for money. Through a mortuary attendant at the forensic science department, the accused's parents obtained two intermediaries to transfer the funds to Halnor. Last year, the authorities arrested everyone involved. According to prior reports, the accused medics received Rs 3 lakhs from the accused teen's parents in exchange for exchanging blood samples.
Notably, the accused teen's family had originally intended to use the blood sample of either his father or brother, but since both were intoxicated, they chose to use his mother's blood instead. Additionally, the companions who were with the accused also had their blood samples exchanged.
Within two hours of the minor's blood sample being taken, vishal Agarwal, the father of the accused teen, called Dr. ajay Taware, the head of the forensic medicine department at Sassoon Hospital, up to fourteen times.
On May 25, early in the morning, the pune Crime branch detained the grandpa of the child defendant in the case, SK Agarwal, in addition to the father. As you may remember, the pune teen's grandfather's connection to the criminal underworld has previously been revealed. In an effort to have the accused grandfather accept responsibility for the incident rather than his little grandson, he allegedly intimidated Gangadhar, their driver, took his phone, and physically restrained him in their home.
The ncp leader attempted to exert political pressure on the police when two officers delayed the filing of a formal complaint and the collection of blood samples.
According to reports, the accused teen's father, vishal Agarwal, summoned sunil Tingre, an ncp leader and then MLA, to the police station, reportedly to exert pressure on the police to lessen the severity of the accused's punishment. The police later questioned Tingre about this. According to an internal investigation, two police officers, Inspector rahul Jagdale and Assistant Inspector Vishwanath Todkari, were later suspended for dereliction of duty, failing to notify superiors promptly, which resulted in delays in filing a case and gathering blood samples. Interestingly, no action has been taken against sunil Tingre for his alleged part in using his influence over the police to support the accused, even though the doctors involved in the unlawful blood swap have been suspended.
Instead of being charged with Section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), the accused youngster was first charged under lower IPC sections, such as Section 304a (causing death by negligence). It should be noted that only after a significant public uproar was Section 304 introduced.
Amitesh Kumar, the pune police Commissioner, stated in march of this year that a proposal to fire these two suspended officers had been forwarded to the state home department. Last year, it was claimed that after being arrested, the accused adolescent was given pizza and hamburgers in the police station.
The accused minor consumed alcohol and drove an unregistered vehicle. Notably, the accused and his companions spent Rs 48,000 on booze at two pubs. The proprietors and employees of the pub were arrested by the police at the time for providing alcohol to a juvenile in violation of the Motor vehicles Act and the Juvenile Justice Act. Even though the Excise Department closed both bars, the ease with which the accused child obtained alcohol suggests that law enforcement is not being strict enough.
Furthermore, the porsche Taycan that the accused adolescent was driving on the day of the incident had been used since march 2024 without a license plate, according to the police. When the owner bought the car, they failed to pay the required registration payments.

Last year, pune regional transport officer Sanjiv Bhor discussed the matter, saying, "The automobile was reserved through a Bengaluru dealer who temporarily registered it before delivering it to the owner in march of this year. Getting it registered was the owner's duty. When the car arrived at the pune RTO, it was inspected. Nevertheless, the owner failed to pay the registration cost. The registration number was not provided since the costs were not paid.
The accused was given bail by the Juvenile "Justice" Board, subject to completing a 300-word essay on road safety.
Within 15 hours after his arrest, the accused minor was granted bail by the Juvenile Justice Board, albeit with ridiculously trivial requirements like two bonds of Rs 7,500 each, a 300-word essay on traffic accidents, 15 days of work with the Yerwada traffic police, and de-addiction counseling. Despite the seriousness of the act, the JJB's leniency demonstrated a glaring lack of compassion for the departed and their loved ones. However, the accused adolescent was sent to an observation home after the JJB canceled his bail on May 22.
Our society and the judiciary are in such a terrible state that a wealthy underage boy without a driver's license is driving a luxury porsche Taycan car that hasn't been registered since march at its highest speed, loses control of the vehicle while intoxicated, and kills two people. He is charged with IPC section 304A (causing death by negligence), among other offenses, and he is granted bail in a flash.
As if that weren't enough, the bombay high court ruled on june 25, 2024, that the teen's imprisonment was "illegal" and ordered his release to his aunt's custody, citing procedural flaws.
The wealthy were able to get away with killing two innocent individuals thanks to corruption, indifference, riches, and influence.
The pune porsche case is a stark illustration of how all it takes for a reckless rich brat to get away with killing two innocent people is money, power, and corruption in the "system." The entire'system'—from the carelessness of the RTO to the corruption of the hospital staff to the indifference of the judiciary—is accountable for the deaths of two innocent people who had no idea that their lives were worthless to a drunken, wealthy brat who would be granted bail in a matter of hours while eating pizza.
