
Ahmedabad Plane Crash: Final farewell to air india pilot sumit Sabharwal, body brought to Mumbai.
Captain sumit Sabharwal was in command of the air india plane that met with the accident. First Officer Clive Kunder was also with him. DGCA had earlier said in a statement that Sabharwal had 8,200 hours of flying experience, while Kunder had 1,100 hours of flying experience.
The body of Captain sumit Sabharwal, the pilot of the air india plane that crashed in ahmedabad last week i.e. on june 12, was brought to mumbai on Tuesday. An official said that a team carrying the body of sumit Sabharwal reached mumbai airport by a flight in the morning. From here, Sumit's family members took it to his residence at Jal Vayu vihar in Powai.
He said that the body would be kept at Sabharwal's house for an hour to pay tribute and later his last rites would be performed at Chakla Vidyut Crematorium. Sabharwal (56) lived with his elderly parents in Mumbai.
Air india flight AI-171, carrying 242 passengers and crew members from London, crashed in ahmedabad on june 12. All but one passenger on board the plane died when the plane crashed into a medical complex, while 29 others who were on the ground also died.
