In Bihar's Kishanganj district, a Muslim woman and her infant were killed on june 19. In Telibasti, near the Pothia police station, 23-year-old Ansari Begum and her 1-and-a-half-year-old daughter were brutally murdered by slicing their throats. The police were able to solve the case in less than a day.

Ansari's brother-in-law, Ehsan Alam, 19, and father-in-law, Farooq Alam, 55, were taken into custody by the police. During questioning, they both admitted to the crime. The bodies of a lady and a girl were discovered in their home in suspicious condition, according to information police obtained on june 19.  After arriving at the scene, the police seized the bodies. Nazimuddin, the deceased's father, filed a complaint, and a formal complaint was filed. To look into the matter, a special investigation team was established.

The deceased Ansari Begum was married to the accused father-in-law Farooq Alam's older son six years prior, according to the investigation. The husband of Ansari Begum's eldest son passed away two years ago.  Ever since, Ansari Begum, his widowed daughter-in-law, has been under pressure by her father-in-law, Farooq Alam, to have sex with him. But she turned down his advances. Ehsan Alam, Farooq Alam's younger son, was also attempting to wed her at the same time. However, SP Sagar Kumar Jha stated that she was not agreeing with him either.

The two, infuriated by Ansari's persistent denial, stormed into his room at night and used a sharp object to cut the throats of the mother and daughter, killing them. They then attempted to portray it as a suicide. They used a ventilator to exit the house, locked the door from the inside, and ran away. Nevertheless, the police apprehended both of them from Telibhitta in Tayabpur based on the inquiry. They also found the firearms and other evidence used in the murder. Abu Nazimuddin of Ansari has also claimed that he has been threatened by his in-laws.
