Oil Loot, Nation Soot: Where Did Modi Sarkar’s ₹1 Lakh Crore Savings Vanish?

The Modi government loves to pat itself on the back for “economic masterstrokes.” Cheaper Russian oil, ethanol blending, record petroleum taxes — the numbers sound great on tv debates. But when you add them up, the question is simple: Where is the money? Ordinary indians see no relief at the pump, no drop in LPG prices, no respite from inflation. Let’s break down the hypocrisy:

1. ₹1 Lakh+ Crore Saved on Russian Oil

For 39 months, india bought discounted crude from Russia, saving more than a trillion rupees. Instead of passing benefits to citizens, the government pocketed the margin while petrol and diesel prices stayed sky-high.

2. ₹7.2 Lakh+ Crore Tax Every Year on Petroleum

Fuel is taxed to death in India. Every litre of petrol and diesel bleeds consumers with excise duty and VAT. The government collects over ₹7.2 lakh crore annually — yet fuel prices never fall, even when global crude does.

3. Ethanol Blending: 20% Cheaper, Citizens Pay More

Ethanol blending is marketed as a “green” and “cost-saving” innovation. In reality, it cuts import bills for the government, but the savings never reflect in your petrol pump bill. Citizens still pay as if petrol is liquid gold.

4. No Relief at the Pump = Hidden Loot

Despite record savings and taxes, indians pay among the highest fuel prices in Asia. Where is the benefit to the aam aadmi? The answer: there isn’t any. The system is designed to squeeze, not serve.

5. Where Did the Money Go?

Savings from Russian oil + petroleum taxes + ethanol blending = lakhs of crores. Yet the common man is told there’s no money for subsidies, healthcare, or education. Meanwhile, grand vanity projects, PR campaigns, and election freebies flourish.

💥 Bottom Line: The Modi government’s “savings” are just another jumla. Citizens are bled dry at the petrol pump while the treasury fattens. Until people demand transparency, the Highway Robbery at the Pump will continue.
