Similarly, it has been reported that the interest on the loan taken in the electricity sector in the last regime has increased by 212.85 percent, and overall the cost of the electricity distribution corporation has increased by 175.58 percent in the last 10 years and this is the reason for the increase in electricity tariff.Also, it has been said that 92.27 lakh consumers who use up to 100 units of electricity will not be affected by this increase in electricity tariff. 63.35 lakh consumers using up to 200 units will be charged only Rs 27.50 per month, similarly 36.25 lakh consumers using up to 300 units will be charged only Rs 72.50 per month and 29.381 lakh consumers using up to 500 units will be charged only Rs 107 to 120 per month. The electricity Board has explained that the charges are high.
