The ap govt's plan to allow the online purchase of movie tickets via official portals has sparked a political uproar, with janasena head pawan kalyan challenging the motives behind it.

Throughout the pre-release ceremony for a telugu movie the other day, an actor-politician criticised the government for inventing the online selling concept just to obtain loans to replenish its depleted coffers. The following morning, minister of Information as well as Public Relations perni nani and other officials responded appropriately, claiming that the suggestion for online ticket sales came from the film business itself, with the goal of better openness.

According to a representative from the government in a tv discussion, the projected online ticketing site by the ap government will only take a 2% service charge for each booking. If the government collects only a 2% service charge, it will be beneficial to the audience.

As per a film industry specialist, the actual goal of the planned approach is to stop unfair commercial practices. He claimed that the telugu cinema business is monopolised from filmmaking through distribution as well as exhibition and that this monopoly is contributing to unfair practices and denying small-time filmmakers the opportunity to thrive in the industry.
