The hyderabad Metropolitan Water Delivery and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) is preparing for the monsoon season even though the summer is going well with no problems with the delivery of drinking water. The water body is beginning preventative steps in advance of the monsoon season, which is anticipated to begin in the first half of June, to guarantee that the quality of the drinking water supply during the rains is successfully maintained.

The preventive steps, according to HMWS&SB authorities, were designed to guarantee that the drinking water provided to homes had the right amount of residual chlorine, or 0.5 parts per million (ppm), even during prolonged periods of rain. Over 6 million chlorine tablets will be purchased and distributed in the slums as part of this activity, which also involves inspecting the chlorine analyzers installed at the outflows of service reservoirs.
HMWS&SB officials discussed the precautions that would be taken to prevent water contamination during the monsoon and revealed that they intend to deploy more workers just to oversee the three-step chlorination process. We have devised a three-step chlorination method to ensure that water is not contaminated or poisoned, and extra employees will be recruited to specifically oversee the entire process during severe rain and monsoon periods, according to an official.

In order to remedy this, the HMWS&SB will send out its personnel in sensitive areas and based on complaints about water contamination. This technology works by using a camera that probes into water lines to determine the state of pipes without having to dig up the road.

6 Monsoon Safety Teams to be Deployed
Throughout the monsoon, a total of 16 HMWS&SB Monsoon Safety Teams will be on duty. In specialized trucks outfitted with a dewatering motor, a generator, and the necessary equipment, each team of five people will carry out the rain relief task.
Six Safety Protocol Teams (SPTs) will tour the city in addition to the HMWS&SB monsoon teams to examine construction projects including water pipes, sewerage lines, manhole cleaning, the installation of sewage treatment plans (STPs), etc. They will also be in charge of checking the work being done in the city and making sure safety precautions are followed there, such as erecting barriers, lighting, and installing radium.
