In kanchipuram, women and students are mostly harassed by liquor shops in public places with high traffic. As large number of Tasmac shops are not closed in kanchipuram, the number of people drinking alcohol in public has increased.

The demand for closure of Tasmac liquor shops is increasing day by day among the public. In kanchipuram metropolitan areas, various complaints are constantly being made that the liquor shops in public places are causing great suffering to the public. There is a Tasmac store near the area where the market used to be on Chengalu Nirodai Road in Periya Kanchipuram.

Around that market there are various business establishments, darhas. Tasmak bar has been set up at that place. This road is also used by devotees going to Ekambara Nathar temple, Sankaramadam and Kamachi Amman Temple. At the Tasmac shop in this area, the buyers of liquor bottles sit and drink liquor in the newly constructed space after the demolition of the market. Because of them, the girls and students who pass through there are in a state of great fear.

There are also incidents of people falling down on the road with their clothes undone after drinking. Due to this, many people have to go with a frown. Also there is a Tasmac store near Chinnakanchipuram market. The shop is also in a high traffic area. Similarly, social activists insist that Tasmac shops should not be set up in areas where women and students move a lot.

And some say that if there are Tasmac shops outside the town, only those who are looking for that shop will go there. Similarly, if Tasmac shops are placed in public areas, people going for some other work, when they see these shops, they go towards the shop.

It's the urge to drink. To prevent this, they said that these shops should not be placed in high traffic areas. About this, social activist A. shankar said: After a long day of protest by public social activists in kanchipuram, only 2 liquor shops have been closed from Chitragupthar temple, Metuth Street area. It's just an eye opener.

Tasmac stores are located in the crowded places of both the markets like Periya kanchipuram and chinna Kanchipuram. When we requested that the shops that are already on the main roads should be taken, the minister and others accepted.

But Tasmac did not remove the shops. So at least steps should be taken to remove the shops located in areas where people migrate more and take them outside the city. In kanchi, 2 bars were closed and crowd in other 3 bars increased even more.

This is of no use. Similarly, TASMAC shops in public places cause crowding. It is not good to set up shops in places of worship, women and students. This spoils the sanctity of the temple and Darha. Said thus.
